THAT, aware that Article 27 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) provides the citizens of this republic comprehensive equality and freedom from discrimination; further aware that Article 56 (b) of the Constitution of Kenya provides that the State shall put in place affirmative action programme designed to ensure that minorities and marginalized groups are provided special opportunities in economic fields; concerned that people with disabilities have not been given priority in allocation of business space within the Nairobi City County; noting that there are many disabled youths with potentials to do business effectively for the betterment of the County; this Assembly urges the County Government to set aside at least five percent of all business spaces within the Central Business District, County Markets and Trading Centres for people with disability.
