AWARE THAT Section 5 of the Nairobi City County Solid Waste Management Act, 2015 provides that every person within the County is entitled to a clean and health environment and has a duty to safeguard and enhance quality of the environment; FURTHER AWARE THAT Section 16 read with Section 26 of the same Act provides that the County may directly or indirectly undertake collection of solid waste from the streets, public places; and, for application of license to collect and transport solid waste by any collector from the Chief Officer in charge; ACKNOWLEDGING the need by the owners and occupiers of any premises which  generate solid waste to ensure collection of such waste, indicating the collector name, business registration number and waste collection license number for compliance; THIS ASSEMBLY URGES the County Executive to conduct a registration of all Solid Waste Collectors in the County and through a public notice, encourage placing of signage at the entrance of all the residential building indicating the Solid waste collector’s name, Business number and collection license number to ensure compliance, as annexed below.
