IT IS notified for information of the general public that vide a letter Ref. IEBC/VREO/2/12/BBI dated 26th January, 2021 and Pursuant to Article 257 (5) of the Constitution of Kenya, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) submitted to the County Assembly of Nairobi City the Building Bridges Initiative (Constitutional Amendment) Bill, 2020 for consideration by the Assembly in accordance with Article 257 (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. Consequently, on Tuesday, 9th February, 2021, the Bill was introduced in the County Assembly and committed to the Sectoral Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs for consideration and reporting
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 196(b) of the Constitution of Kenya and Standing Order 131(3) which require public participation in the legislative and other business of the Assembly and its Committees, the Committee hereby invites residents of Nairobi City County to submit any representations that they may have on the Bill by way of written memoranda.
Further, the Committee shall hold a public participation forum on the Bill on Wednesday 17th February, 2021 beginning at 10.30 am at Charter Hall, City Hall Building.
Please note that pursuant to COVID-19 guidelines by the Ministry of Health, restricted admission into the Hall shall be on first come first served basis.
The representations may be hand delivered to the Clerk of the Nairobi City County Assembly, PO BOX 45844 – 00100, City Hall Building, 2nd Floor, Room 280, Nairobi or by email clerk@nairobiassembly.go.ke to be received on or before Wednesday 17th February, 2021 at 5.00pm.
